The seminar titled Vietnam Interior & Architectural Trends 2026–2030 took place at Lotte Hotel Hanoi, attracting a large number of professionals, businesses, architects, and designers from both Vietnam and abroad.
This event also marked the official launch of Trend 26+ — the first trend publication for Vietnam’s interior industry. The initiative was pioneered by three leading brands in the field of interior materials and accessories: Minh Long Wood, Viglacera, and Huy Hoang Locks, with professional endorsement from the Vietnam Interior Design Association and the Vietnam Association of Architects, as well as media support from Architecture Magazine.
Vietnam Interior & Architectural Trends 2026–2030: A Multi-Dimensional Dialogue on the Identity of Vietnamese Interior Design
As part of the Trend 26+ launch series, the seminar Vietnam Interior & Architectural Trends 2026–2030 brought together leading speakers and experts in the fields of architecture and interior design to present analyses and forecasts on major interior architecture trends in Vietnam over the next five years.
Expanding from the global context, the seminar identified key global shifts impacting society, aesthetic preferences, and consumer psychology worldwide. It also presented practical examples from the Asia-Pacific region, where many countries are striving to shape a strong local design identity.
Special guests shared their latest designs, sparking strong creative inspiration for both attendees and Trend 26+ readers. They included designer Wesley Liu – founding member of PplusP Creations; architect Lê Trương, President of the Vietnam Interior Design Association; and architect Hoàng Thúc Hào, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Architects.
Moderated by designer Lưu Việt Thắng, the discussion explored future directions in Vietnamese interior design.
The question “How can Vietnamese interiors shape their own identity in the global integration flow?” served as a “key” to unlock possible pathways for the country’s interior design industry in the years ahead, including:
- The trend of personalising living spaces;
- The rising need for sustainable and essential products;
- Green architecture and interiors; and
- Celebrating heritage and art in living spaces
During the discussion, the experts shared and agreed on a common viewpoint that the role of interior design as a “third skin” is about connecting humans, the environment, and cultural identity to create highly personal living spaces where users can truly be themselves.
In his speech, Architect Lê Trương, President of the Vietnam Interior Design Association, noted that Vietnamese interior design is entering a phase of rapid development, marked by the emergence of many talented young designers, promising local brands, and a market that increasingly values aesthetics, experience, and culture. However, in reality, we are still lacking:
- Effective connectivity within a creative ecosystem;
- Long-term direction for a distinct design language; and
- And supportive mechanisms to help Vietnamese interiors build a presence on the global stage.
“With Trend 26+ and today’s seminar, we hope not only to deliver a short-term push, but also to initiate a cycle of ‘Data – Mindset – Action’ towards the goal of developing Vietnamese interior trends in a creative and sustainable direction. The Vietnam Interior Design Association will continue to accompany partners in professional activities, competitions, seminars, publications, and especially in creative support programs tied closely to professional practice in this long journey ahead,” said Lê Trương.
Official Launch of Trend 26+ Trend Publication
Considered the very first trend publication for Vietnam’s interior design industry, Trend 26+ marks a pivotal milestone in the sector’s collective mindset—shifting from a passive reception of global trends to a proactive stance in researching, forecasting, and shaping those trends.
Built upon data from World Global Style Network (WGSN)—the world’s leading trend-forecasting organisation—supplemented by insights gathered at international exhibitions and in-depth contributions from 45 authors across Vietnam and the Asia-Pacific region, Trend 26+ is far more than a simple publication. It stands as a manifesto for a new vision: the creation of a sustainable creative ecosystem in which designers, architects, professional associations, and pioneering brands work in harmony to forge a distinctly Vietnamese interior-architecture identity within the global flow.
Dr. Arch. Phan Đăng Sơn, President of the Vietnam Association of Architects, praised the release of this special publication:
“While awareness and creativity among architects and designers in harnessing and evolving our traditional cultural identity still lack depth and consistency, and despite ongoing challenges in Vietnam’s theoretical discourse, criticism, and training, the debut of Trend 26+—an authoritative, professionally-endorsed monograph on interior-architecture trends—provides a precious foundation. It will enable the architecture and interior design community to bear fruit in ways that are richly local yet fully integrated into the modern, sustainable global arena. The seminar Vietnam Interior & Architecture Trends 2026–2030, featuring leading experts, arrives at exactly the right moment to amplify and disseminate the core values contributed by our profession in design, culture, and creative innovation.”
The official release of Trend 26+ and the accompanying seminar Vietnam Interior & Architectural Trends 2026–2030 have opened a multidimensional dialogue among architects, designers, businesses, and experts, both domestic and international. With Trend 26+ now in hand, the dream of defining a uniquely Vietnamese interior design style has moved from aspiration to an achievable goal. This initiative represents one of the sector’s most decisive steps, embodying our collective effort to preserve cultural identity, fuel creative passion, and assert Vietnam’s design prowess on the world stage.
