APSDA: New Board Member for Y2021-2023

The Asia Pacific Space Designers Association (APSDA) concluded its 5th General Assembly on 30th October 2021. During the General Assembly, the Y2019-2021 board members officially handover to the Y2021-2023 new board endorsed by the APSDA membership, where new office bearers were elected for the new term.

Keat Ong, founder of Nota Design Group and Keat Ong Design, as well as 3 terms president of the Society of Interior Designers, Singapore (SIDS) has been unveiled as the new president of APSDA. Keat chairs the Singapore Interior Design Accreditation Council, which oversees the competency of interior design practitioners in Singapore. He was also elected to preside over the 12 nations/ territories APSDA for the term 2021-2023.

Serving as deputy president is Fu Jun, president of Union for International Design of Macao (UIDM. Is the CEO, chief designer and dean of RYB Originator. He was elected as deputy president of APSDA in 2021 and served as the chairman of the Competition & Awards Committee for the first APSDA Awards 2021.

The vice president is Emil Chao. In 2020, he was elected as the chairman of the Chinese Society of Interior Designers (CSID), the chairman of the Taiwan Interior Design Award (TID Award) and the 2021 German IF Award jury member. He owns an interior design company in China.

Newly-elected board members are Ar. IDr Chris Yap, IDr. Lilia De Jesus, Ar Jabeen Zacharias, Enoch Hui, Hiroyuki Niwa, Shigeru Kubota, Rohadi Sumardi, Bindra K Pradhan, Vipavadee Pao Patpongpibul Gavin Campbell. Vachira Thanmathikom and Mr. Leong Ta Wah are the newly-appointed secretary-general and honorary treasurer, respectively.

APSDA aims to unify regional interior design bodies to speak as one voice on design matters and policies at the regional level.
