Mo.1950 Unveils Tracce: Memories of Artisanal Production Process

April 8, 2024

On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2024, Mo.1950 presents Tracce. The windows of the Milanese concept store at Via Carducci 38 host an artistic installation that delves into the figure of the artisan and their work, reinterpreting production scraps. Pieces, materials, leather and leather residues are recovered, recomposed, and juxtaposed, revealing memories of the artisanal production process.

Normally forgotten elements that come back to life in a play of voids and fullness, presence and absence, to compose evocative backdrops from which the seating by Frag – a brand partner of Mo.1950 along with Olivieri and Carpet Edition, also part of the fascinating scenography recreated by Tracce – almost seem to emerge in the foreground. Thanks to the inclusion of Olivieri’s boiseries and Carpet Edition’s rugs, which respectively serve as backdrops and stage, the scene is complete. The result, created under the expert artistic direction of LualdiMeraldi Studio, is an evocative story of how complements and furnishings are born and take shape.

A story of Italian tailoring that continues inside the concept store, where tools used by artisans are on display.

An engaging journey on the traces of gestures and knowledge together with Mo.1950, a company led by Corrado Molteni that combines industrial production with the unmistakable care of the craftsman, and specializes in highly customized furnishing solutions for residential, contract and turnkey real estate.

De’Longhi – Technical Sponsor

When it comes to tailoring, De’Longhi, the event’s technical sponsor, has always maintained a high standard of craftsmanship and attention to detail, combining Italian style with reliable and innovative performance. De’Longhi’s dedication to research and development has led to the creation of products that meet the practical needs of consumers and add a touch of elegance and style to the modern home. With a sophisticated and timeless design characterized by soft and delicate lines, the Rivelia automatic machine embodies a new aesthetic language, versatile and suitable for any decor style. Rivelia brings a twist of personality and finesse to the home environment, adding a sense of consistency and harmony to the room’s interior and meeting the most diverse tastes.

Sist’Art

Special mention goes to Sist’Art, a prestigious Venetian art gallery that, after transforming Mo.1950’s spaces in Via Carducci into a real temporary art gallery in 2023, now enriches and enhances the artistic sensibility sought by Tracce and its brand partners with a new exhibition that will be unveiled on the occasion of MDW24 and will remain visible throughout the year.
