APSDA: Awarding Asia-Pacific’s Industry Drivers in Interior Design

The Asia Pacific Space Designers Association (APSDA) announces the APSDA Awards 2023 as a biennial design award to honour elite personalities and celebrate the finest projects of the interior design profession in Asia and the Asia Pacific regions. It is a milestone achievement for any Interior architects / designers to be recognised and their projects to be showcased internationally.

The goals of the awards consist of three main objectives:

  • Recognising and honouring the most distinguished interior architects / designers in Asia Pacific on a biennial basis;
  • Showcasing the best of Asia Pacific’s designed spaces;
  • Promoting professional standards among the interior design practices.

Commencing at the beginning of February 2023, the APSDA Awards 2023 spotlights the leading lights of the interior design industry, honouring those whose boundless creativity, unwavering commitment, and extensive experience have driven unparalleled success in today’s challenging creative climate.

The award is divided into two categories, consisting of the “Project of the Year” and the “Personalities of the Year”.

Project of the Year

This category seeks exceptional works that stand as testaments to originality, functionality, spatial planning, and aesthetics. APSDA Awards 2023 celebrates projects that push the boundaries of imagination, while seamlessly integrating practicality and innovation. These exceptional creations captivate the senses, making a lasting impact on those who experience them.

Personality of the Year

Celebrating inspirational leadership, industry recognition, and influence, APSDA Awards 2023 recognises visionaries who have left an indelible mark on the design community. Their outstanding contributions have garnered widespread acclaim and propelled positive changes within the industry. Additionally, acknowledging their commitment to maintaining the highest quality of content, inspiring others to reach new heights of creativity and professionalism.

Both main categories have sub-categories to further cover various talent sections within the specific category. The “Project of the Year” category comprises of eight sub-categories namely Residential, Hospitality, Food & Beverage, Workspace, Entertainment & Leisure, Retail, Exhibition and Public. The “Personality of the Year” category comprises of four sub-categories namely Designer, Young Designer, Design Educator and Design Journalist.

The awards are given solely on merit and are awarded to commend those most deserving for their ingenuity and hard work, distinguishing them from their competitors and proving them worthy of recognition. The judging team will consist of distinguished design practitioners and educators from Asia and beyond. The winners will be awarded at APSDA Awards 2023 Gala Dinner ceremony which is scheduled to be held on the 28th of October 2023 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
