Design League Cup Unveils Cycling Event

March 2, 2023

On 21 February 2023, the Design League Cup held its inaugural ceremony at the National Design Centre. Members of eight design bodies and associations in Singapore attended the ceremony to learn about the mission and vision of the Design league Cup.

The event is jointly sponsored by ADMIRA and organised by the Society of Interior Designers, Singapore (SIDS), the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA), the Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC), the Singapore Fashion Council (SFC), the Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects (SILA), the Design Business Chamber Singapore (DBCS), the Singapore Institute of Planners (SIP), and the Association of Advertising & Marketing Singapore (AAMS).

Organisers took the opportunity to announce the Cycling Cup, an upcoming event that allows members of Singapore’s design bodies and associations across disciplines to build strong relationships through participation in sports.

The Design League Cup 2023 Cycling Event, slated to take place in Changi Beach Park on April 15, 2023, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., will be kicked off by Guest of Honour Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth, Low Yen Ling. Cyclists from the eight associations are eligible to join. The route will be approximately 30 kilometres and begin and end at Changi Beach Park, with Tanah Merah Ferry serving as its halfway point, giving participants a stunning perspective of the area. Participants can look forward to socialising and networking over a lunch buffet/BBQ. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the charitable organisation Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charity (THKMC).

Through this event, the Design League Cup aims to create opportunities for creative designers to network and make connections within the Singapore design community. A strong community of passionate designers can potentially lead to more partnerships and thus more innovation, allowing Singapore’s design environment to thrive.
