Natureland Spa @ Liat Tower

When the CEO of Natureland, Ms Fion Wu told the brief to principal designer Jackie Lai, she meant for spa to give visitors an intimate experience of relaxation in order to promote a general sense of well-being. A lot of thoughts are placed to the flow of guests from busy to active to quiet areas of the spa, without too much disruption between the areas. From the entrance, the spa guest would an instant feeling of relaxation they need to step into a space that is harmonious in all its aspects where the counter melts within the surrounding natural beauty of stones. It would then lead to the passageway where ambience light, decor, color, music and scent each play their part in telling the story of the spa and help set the mood and determine the experience the guest are going to indulge in. A cohesive language that effects everything from the color of the walls to the color of the towels and style of furniture are selected to be consistent throughout the spa experience.

In the curated space, water flowing sounds that are distributed to different zones in the two stories space, setting the rhythm of the space and drawing customers away from the busy city seconds after seconds, setting them to a relaxing experience in a natural environment. Different materials are employed to create contrasting sounds and the spiral inclined walls control the spread and molding of sound in space.

A sense of ethnic heritage is highlighted along the pathway to the rooms, with exquisite carvings inject a delicate playfulness, honoring the art of Thai culture, enriching the ambience with a pleasant rejuvenation.  The elegant simplicity of the rooms eludes a sense of welcoming warmth, with the employment of natural stone and wood further enhances the fluid continuity between culture and modern sensibility.
